Dumplet (“Dumplet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides expense, receipt, and mileage tracking tools designed for self-employed individuals, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Dumplet collects, how we use and protect that information, when information may be shared with service providers, and the choices you have regarding your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create or use a Dumplet account, we may collect information such as your email address, account identifier, and other information necessary to create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
Expense and Receipt Information
When you use Dumplet to track business expenses, we may process information you provide, including receipt images or documents, merchant names, transaction dates, transaction amounts, expense categories, notes, business-related information, and other information contained in documents you choose to upload.
Receipt information may be processed using automated or artificial-intelligence-based technology to extract information from receipts and assist with expense organization.
Mileage and Location Information
If you choose to use Dumplet’s mileage-tracking features, Dumplet may access precise device location information to calculate and record business-trip mileage.
When you actively start a mileage-tracking trip, location information may continue to be collected while Dumplet is running in the background or while your device screen is locked so that the trip can be accurately recorded.
Dumplet does not use location information for advertising purposes.
You may control location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may prevent mileage-tracking features from functioning properly.
Files, Photos, and Camera Access
Dumplet may access photos, files, documents, or the device camera when you choose to photograph, select, or upload a receipt or other expense record. Dumplet accesses this information only as necessary to provide features you initiate.
Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a Dumplet subscription, subscription and transaction information may be processed by the applicable app marketplace, such as Google Play or Apple’s App Store, and by service providers used to manage subscription access.
Dumplet does not directly collect or store your complete payment-card information.
Technical Information
We and our service providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Dumplet. This may include device or app information, app version, operating system information, diagnostic information, and identifiers used to maintain app functionality or subscription status.
How We Use Information
We use information collected through Dumplet to provide and maintain the app; authenticate accounts; store and organize expenses and receipts; calculate and record mileage; process receipt information; generate user-requested records or exports; manage subscriptions and paid features; troubleshoot errors and maintain security; provide customer support; and improve Dumplet’s reliability and functionality.
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data.
Service Providers
Dumplet uses third-party service providers to operate certain portions of the service. Depending on the features you use, information may be processed by providers that support database and authentication infrastructure, cloud services, automated receipt processing, subscription management, app distribution, payment processing, and related technical functionality.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to Dumplet or as otherwise permitted by applicable law and their applicable agreements and privacy terms.
Current service providers may include Supabase for application infrastructure and account/data services, RevenueCat for subscription management, Google and Google Play for Android distribution and related services, Apple and the App Store for iOS distribution and related services, and providers of automated or artificial-intelligence-based processing used to support receipt extraction.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.
Personal and sensitive information transmitted between Dumplet and its service infrastructure is transmitted using secure encrypted connections where supported and appropriate.
No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Dumplet’s services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, resolve disputes, maintain security, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users may delete individual records where that functionality is available or request deletion of their Dumplet account and associated personal data.
Certain limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or regulatory obligations. When information must be retained for such purposes, we limit retention to what is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your Dumplet account and associated personal data.
Dumplet provides an account-deletion option within the app and an external method for requesting account deletion through the Dumplet website.
When an account is deleted, Dumplet will delete personal data associated with the account except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or regulatory purposes.
Your Choices and Permissions
You control whether Dumplet receives permissions such as location, camera, photo, or file access through your device and through actions you take within the app.
You may revoke device permissions through your device settings. Certain Dumplet features may no longer function if the permissions required for those features are disabled.
Children’s Privacy
Dumplet is intended for adults and business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International Users
If you access Dumplet from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where Dumplet’s service providers operate, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Dumplet evolves or as legal, regulatory, or operational requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date shown above.
