Delete Your Dumplet Account

You can request permanent deletion of your Dumplet account and associated data at any time.

To request deletion, email dumpletapp@gmail.com from the email address associated with your Dumplet account with the subject Delete My Dumplet Account.

We will delete your account and associated Dumplet data, except information we may be required to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes.

You can also request account deletion from within the Dumplet app under Account settings.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Dumplet collects, how we use and protect that information, when information may be shared with service providers, and the choices you have regarding your information.

Delete Specific Dumplet Data

You can delete individual expenses, receipts, and mileage records directly within the Dumplet app without deleting your account.

If you would like to request deletion of additional data associated with your Dumplet account, email dumpletapp@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject Delete My Dumplet Data. Please specify the data you would like deleted.

If you request deletion of your entire Dumplet account, your account and associated user data will be permanently deleted, except for information Dumplet may be required to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes.

What does bookkeeping actually do?

Bookkeeping is the record of what happened in your business: what came in, what went out, when it happened, what it was for, and the evidence behind it.

Revenue vs. profit: what is the difference?

Revenue is money the business earns before expenses. Recorded Profit is revenue minus the confirmed business expenses recorded in Dumplet. Revenue is not the same thing as take-home pay.

Why should I note what an expense was for?

A category says what kind of expense it was. A business-purpose note explains why it belonged to the business and preserves context for later.

What if something is partly business and partly personal?

Mixed-use purchases need context and may need a business-use amount or percentage instead of treating the full purchase as business.

Is every business expense automatically tax deductible?

No. Bookkeeping and tax treatment are related but not identical. Tax treatment can depend on the facts, the type of expense, business purpose, substantiation, and current rules.

Why is a transfer not the same as income?

Moving your own money between accounts does not usually mean the business earned new revenue. Dumplet keeps transfers separate so they do not inflate Revenue or Recorded Profit.

Why can a Stripe, Square, or PayPal deposit be tricky?

A payment-processor deposit can represent sales after fees, refunds, reserves, or other adjustments. The bank deposit alone may not tell the whole story.

Why is an expense refund not revenue?

When a business expense is refunded, it generally reduces the related expense rather than representing new sales revenue.

Why keep the original receipt if the transaction is already recorded?

The transaction shows that money moved. The receipt can show what was purchased and provide supporting evidence.

What information makes an expense record useful?

A strong record usually includes the date, amount, merchant or payee, category, business purpose, correct business, and supporting evidence when available.

What does Needs You mean?

Needs You means Dumplet does not have enough certainty to change your financial picture safely. The record waits for human review.

Why does a mileage record need a business purpose?

Miles alone do not explain why a trip was business-related. Recording the purpose preserves the business context.

Why track mileage as I go?

Contemporaneous records are easier to maintain and generally more reliable than estimates reconstructed months later.
